What I wish I knew before I started trading (SMB Trader Ryan)

This is a new series that we produced for the trading community where we asked developing traders from our desk to share what they wished they knew before starting their trading career.  In their own words, they share what would have helped them and more.  In this video, we discuss: demo v live trading, learning from a Senior Trader, trading psychology and more.

What I wish I knew before I started trading Part II (SMB Trader Justin)

This is Part II of our new series of developing traders from our desk sharing what they wish they knew before starting their trading career.  Here a former intern provides his insight.  I asked each trader to come with prepared ideas and then share.  Learn to code, trade live in college, intern are just some ideas shared.

How to Trade IPOs

IPOs have been hot recently.  We just had Zoom and Pinterest the last trading session.  We have Slack, UBer, Airbnb, Robinhood, Postmates, WeWork pricing this year as well. Here we discuss how to trade them using a specific example from a recent IPO- LYFT.  More are coming so now is a great time to improve your IPO trading strategy.

How come traders with edge are still losing money?

It is hard to pull my partner at SMB, Steve Spencer, from his trading screens but we succeed here in this video.  He walks thru why you might be leaving money on the table with your trading.  If you are not following Steve on Twitter, consider doing so.  He offers the best active short-term trading commentary on the Street in real-time.

A junior trader on the hot seat reviewing his trading at the firm

I wanted to see the quality of work with our junior traders and used one as a measure.  Was he doing the quality of work demanded by the firm and, more importantly, the market to succeed?  Find out in this video.
