This week I presented at #Stocktoberfest the @Stocktwits event masterminded by @howardlindzon. My presentation was titled: 8 Ideas from the Prop Desk to Improve Your Trading. Below are the slides and main ideas from my discussion.
Equanimity
Just intake the data the market is offering and then make the right decision- like Shark. Don’t root. If you do, then your trade results will not reflect how good you can be as a trader.
The Non-Scalable Trader
You must be right about direction, time and while controlling your risk/reward.
A Trader’s Treasure Hunt for Edge
There is a lot of good to be found in even the results of an underperforming trader. Hunt for what you do best and do more of that. This exercise propelled one SMB Trader to become one of our best traders.
The Partner Rips
Eliminate the trades where you do not have edge. They will infect the results of all those trades where you have edge.
The Bionic Trader
We are particularly proud of one SMB Trader. He went from Consistently Negative Trader to profitable by building a filter for his best setup.
A Successful Trader Who Made a Late Career Change
Seth Freudberg, Director of SMB Options, is an example of someone who transitioned from a job he hated into a consistently profitable trader.
The Gr8 Automated Failed Discretionary Trader
You can be the worst discretionary trader ever yet a successful quantitative trader.
